Evil Gatekeeper

This is a character I made for a game project. I created this 3D model of the character from a sketch by Dean, one of our group members. It is a gatekeeper who is a character place to the change beyond, the idea was that this character morphs in to something angry and malevolent.


这是给我们的一个游戏项目制作的角色。我根据我们小组成员之一Dean的草图创建了这个角色的3D模型。它是一个“守门人”,在玩家是通往“变化”之前会遇到的关键角色。这个角色的设计初衷是他会有两个不同的版本,在情节触发后会变形为愤怒和邪恶版的“守门人”。






We started with wanting to create a project that explores queer fluidity and identity, drawing inspiration from Barad’s concept of the self-touching, ever-changing, “queer” electron and Serpentine Podcast Queer Currents.

This project uses a game format, specifically VR, to create an immersive experience the viewer can explore. On the key of Queer Currents and its theories that discuss queer ecologies and wildness - the joy and complexity found in natural “disorder”, we started with wanting the game to have different pathways created by encountering choices to make new experiences and environments. There will be three main avatars, a metaphor for their hopes for the future and their fears, that will present the player with multiple choices. According to what they choose, the environment will change around them, symbolising the different pathways of queerness.

我们一开始就想创造一个探索酷儿流动性和身份认同的项目,从Barad的自我触摸、不断变化的 "酷儿 "电子和Serpentine播客的酷儿潮流的概念中获得灵感。
