	This is a 3D film that focuses on mental health through Buddhist philosophy, inspired by personal experiences and observations. Mental health is a common issue in society, and the film aims to make people aware of it. I chose to present it from a Buddhist perspective, as I have experience in Buddhist studies and see it as a way of achieving a stable mental state. The film portrays a&#38;nbsp;inversion of Pure Land based on people's responses to a questionnaire about their state of mind and Buddhist studies.


	
这是一个通过佛教哲学视角表达心理健康话题的3D短片，灵感来自个人经历和对人群的观察。该作品旨在呼吁对心理健康的关注并让人们意识到这是一个不容忽视的问题。选择结合佛教文化的表达方式是因为我近几年有一些接触佛学的经历，我认为它是一种生活方式，是对我们自己心理的研究，也是实现稳定心理状态的一种实践。这使我把这些理论和方法与心理健康这个主题结合起来，基于人们对有关心理状态和佛教研究的问卷回答，创作出了一个颠倒版的‘净土’。

Motivation
	It was inspired by some of my personal experiences and my observations of the people around me. Mental health has always been an issue that cannot be ignored. I have struggled with it sometimes, and I have noticed that many people around me have varying degrees of mental problems. This made me realise that the topic is very common in today's society but people often don't pay enough attention to how to address it themselves. So the idea has always been to create a work on it to make people aware of Mental Health matters.
	
它的灵感来自我的一些个人经历和我对周围人的观察。心理健康一直是一个不容忽视的问题。我有时也为之挣扎，并且注意到我周围的许多人都有不同程度的心理问题。这让我意识到，这个话题在当今社会非常普遍，但人们往往没有足够重视如何解决自己的问题。因此，我的想法一直是要创作一部关于它的作品，让人们意识到心理健康的重要。




Why ‘Buddhist Perspective’

	I want to present it from a Buddhist point of view because it's a significant part of my identity -- being a Buddhist. I have been in contact with Buddhism since 2015 and I have been exposed to the systematic study of Tibetan Buddhism and Pure Land Buddhism. I see Buddhist philosophy as a way of life and a practice for achieving a stable mental state, which I want to integrate with mental health.

	我之所以想从佛学的角度来表达这个主题，是出于我一部分的身份认同--佛教徒。我从2015年开始接触佛学，包括对藏传佛教和净土宗的系统修习。我认为佛教哲学提倡的是一种生活方式，也是实现稳定心理状态的修行，所以在这里我想把它与心理健康结合起来。

I realised that if I was to apply the profound theory I would have to find the answers in the ancient Buddhist scriptures. So I mainly focused on The Amitabha Sutra. There are countless theories in the scriptures, and I wanted to find very specific points of visual reference based on the need to create art. Then I thought of&#38;nbsp;Pure Land, which is the picture on the right. It has another name —— The Land of Utmost Happiness.

	我意识到如果要运用佛学中的理论，就必须从经书中找到答案。于是我开始参考《阿弥陀经》希望从中获取灵感。佛经中有数不清的理论，而基于艺术创作的需求我希望能够找到视觉上可以参考的非常具体的点。然后‘净土’从我的脑海中浮现，也就是右边的图片。它有另一个名字--极乐世界。The Pure Land already portrays there is a place where all the beings are free from suffering and worry, which I think is the opposite world of the state of mind described by the people I researched. So I wanted to go for an inversion version based on some scenes I extracted from Pure Land and fill in the imagination of people who got involved in my questionnaire about the state of mind. Then ‘The Land of Utmost Happiness’ came to my mind.

	净土已经描绘了有一个众生没有痛苦和烦恼的地方，我认为这是与我调研的人们所描述的心境的相反世界。所以我想根据从‘净土’中提取的一些场景，去做一个颠倒的版本，并将参与了我做的关于心理健康的调查问卷里人们对于自己陷入消极状态时对心境的想象填充进来。于是便有了‘极恶之地’这个名字。

Scene 1

	The opening scene features a tunnel that represents traveling from reality to 'the land of utmost badness', inspired by the Buddhist concept of Pure Land as a far-off place. This physical distance is expressed as a distance to the state of mind in the project, and the tunnel serves as a connection that transports the audience from reality to a specific state of mind world.

	开头的场景是一条隧道，带领观众从现实世界通往这个‘极恶之地’，灵感来自于佛经中描绘净土(极乐世界)在距离上看是一个遥远的地方。这种物理距离在该作品中被表达为与心理世界的距离，而隧道作为一种连接，将观众从现实中传送到一个特定的心理世界。

	This scene is about to show those sentient beings in this world. You can see there is part of Pure Land as a reference showing that all the beings are free from suffering and worry. So I made the beings in this project as an opposing version-- wear masks as if they were trying to hide their emotions but their pain and anguish were evident from the 'spikes' on their bodies and their contorted postures
	这个场景是要展现这个世界上的众生。你可以看到有一部分从净土庄严图中截取出来的参考，显示所有的众生都没有痛苦和烦恼。所以我把这个作品中的众生作为一个对立的版本--他们戴着面具，好像试图隐藏自己的情绪，但从他们身上的 "尖刺 "和他们扭曲的姿势仍可以看出痛苦和不安。

	This is the ‘Core’ scene and also references Pure Land but in an inverted version. The temple's appearance remains, but the Buddha is replaced by a spherical shape connected by chain-like objects. This represents Buddhism's teaching that suffering arises from delusion and how we all share our delusions and desires while being influenced by the environment. It also symbolises karma. 
	这个是该作品的‘核心’场景，也是从净土中截取但却颠倒化的版本。寺院建筑的外观保持不变，但佛陀被一个由无数链状物连接的球形所取代。这象征了‘共业’以及痛苦产生于妄想，我们如何在受到环境影响的同时分享我们的妄想和欲念。

	Here these beings can be seen making pilgrimages to this central sphere in droves. They are blind but devout, representing the idea that we will submit to the tide of our suffering in the world and conform to it. We do not know what we are running for or even pursuing something for the rest of our lives, but perhaps it is as blind as they seem to be.
	这里可以看到这些众生在纷纷对着这个中心的球体朝拜。他们是盲目但又虔诚的，代表着我们会臣服于世俗中的让我们痛苦的思潮并顺应它。我们不知道在为什么奔波甚至穷极一生去追求一些东西，但也许就像他们看起来那样盲目。

Scene 5

	As the shot progresses, the audience's views move to the huge sphere from the previous scene, and with it the sight of countless beings they are tortured and so in pain.&#38;nbsp;This scene is also an adaptation of the beings depicted in the Pure Land.
	随着镜头的推进，观众的视线前进移到上一幕的巨大球体中，映入眼帘的是无数被折磨得痛苦不堪的众生。这一幕也是对于净土中描绘的极乐众生的改编。

	Here is the Lotus Pond scene. In the concept of Pure Land, all beings will be born from the lotus. So, I designed it so that all the beings are born from a giant lotus, and then all the lotus bloom together. At the beginning, the audience will see a huge installation with chains at the top, linking it to the previous scene, which was the huge sphere. This implies that the manipulation of the 'central' sphere leads to reincarnation and karma, resulting in the birth of beings here.
	这个莲池的场景是引用了在净土的概念中，所有众生将从莲花中诞生。因此，我设计让这个极恶之土的众生也都从一朵巨大的莲花中诞生，所有的莲花同时随之绽放。一开始，观众会看到一个巨大的装置，顶部有很多根链条，把它和之前的场景连接起来，也就是那个巨大的球体。这意味着"中心"球体的操纵导致了轮回和业力，于是众生在这里轮回、诞生。

	The film ends with eerie clusters of flowers in a twisted space that begin to grow and cover a broken Bodhisattva statue. What I want to express here is actually about my own identity in this work, as part of my personal experience. But this is a rather open ending and may be viewed differently by those who also share this identity or can empathise with Buddhist culture.
	短片的最后，是在一个扭曲的空间里，一簇簇诡谲的花朵开始生长并覆盖了一尊破碎的菩萨像。我在这里想表达的其实是关于我自己的身份认同在这部作品中的体现，是我个人经历的一部分。但这是一个开放的结局，对于那些也有这种身份或能与佛教文化产生共鸣的人，可能会有不同的看法。

Something I wanna tell..
 一些话&#38;nbsp;



	To be quite blunt, the idea started with some of my own mental issues. Initially, I thought that this inspired creation would heal me in the process. However, through in-depth conversations with a few friends, I realized that mental health problems are, in fact, common for people in today's environment, especially young people. I gradually felt that it was not just me and became more determined to do it, hoping to appeal to more people in this way.

I have always been ashamed to talk about this mental aspect of myself, afraid of showing my negative energy or making people think I am too sensitive. But it is real, and it has had a very negative effect on me. I don't know if you can relate to this, but many negative emotions come one after another, and when they build up to a terrible level, they can push people to the brink of despair and give rise to even more negative thoughts. One of my worst experiences was when my head went blank and buzzed, and it was as if my body was about to lose its mind and be overtaken by horrible thoughts. I often imagined that these negative emotions were a monster inside me, eating and tearing away at all the good parts of me, and trying to take over my body and eventually represent me.

It is present in each of us, but it is not actually the enemy because we cannot really destroy it; it is part of us. Its image is an abstract representation of our present state of mind, and we fear it because we are deep in pain and anguish. But once you get over that, you will find that it is not actually scary, and you will not let it manipulate you anymore. You will accept that it is there and live in harmony with it. Although I have not been able to do that even now, I believe that at least being aware of it and thinking about facing it is a big change.

I have been thinking about how to integrate Buddhist philosophy into my artwork, but it is difficult to find many suitable examples for me to refer to, or perhaps my research methods were not good. The reality is that many artists who use Buddhist thinking for their subject matter, I think, are only doing it superficially, perhaps just trying to use the religious elements of Buddhism to make their work seem mystical. Of course, I'm not sure I'm capable of doing better than that because the philosophy of Buddhism is so vast that, even though I'm a Buddhist, I can only say I understand one or two percent of it. Finding the right direction to use these ideas in my work was something I had to think about, and as a work of art, I also had to consider the time it would take to complete and whether the technical complexity of the work would allow me to visualize all these ideas. But this work is the second time I have fused my own identity and subject matter into one work. I will continue to experiment with this kind of work in the future..
很直白的讲，这个灵感最开始源于我自己的一些心理问题。最初我是想着以此为灵感的创作能够在过程中获得一种治愈。但我通过与几个朋友深度的交谈后，发现其实心理问题对于当今环境下的人们特别是年轻人来说，是普遍存在的。我逐渐意识到这并不是我一个人的事，于是更坚定了去做并希望以此呼吁更多的人。
我一直羞于启齿自己的这些心理，害怕展现自己的负能量或是让别人觉得我太矫揉做作。但它是真实却在的，同时给我带来了非常大的消极作用。不知道大家能否感同身受，诸多负面的情绪都是会相伴着接二连三地出现，当累积到非常可怕的地步是会把人推到绝望的边界，衍生出更消极的念头。其中我最严重的一次经历是当时脑袋已经一片空白并嗡嗡作响，那个状态下身体仿佛即将要失去理智被可怕的念头占据。我时常幻象这些负面的情绪是一个在我身体里的怪物，吞噬撕咬着我一切美好的部分，并企图侵占我的身体最终代表我。
它是存在在我们每个人心中的，但其实它并不是敌人，因为我们无法真正的消灭它，它就是我们的一部分。它的形象是我们当下心境的抽象展现，我们之所以畏惧它是因为我们深陷于痛苦与烦恼。但当你克服这些以后，会发现其实它并不可怕，也不会再让它操纵你。你会接纳它是存在的，并与它和谐共生。虽然现在的我也还没有做得到，但我相信至少我们意识到这个问题，想着去面对它就已经是很大的改变了。
我其实一直在思考如何将佛教哲学融合到艺术创作中，却很难找到很多合适的例子去让我参考，也有可能是我的调研方法不太好。但现实中有些用佛学文化做主题的作品我认为他们可能只是做到了肤浅的一层，或许只是想用佛教的宗教元素去让他们的作品看似有神秘感。当然我不确定我是否有能力能够做到更好，因为佛学太深了，深到虽然我是个佛教徒我甚至不能说我略之一二（百分之一二都说不上，哈哈）。所以在创作中如何找到合适的方向去运用这些思想是需要思考的，而且作为艺术品我还要思考完成的时间，技术上的复杂度是否能都具像化这些概念。但这个作品对于我来讲是第二次将佛学和创作题材融合并完成为一件作品。未来我还会继续努力去尝试这样的创作..

In response, this project introduces a fictional system called Cir-clean, which aims to achieve the cleanest NFTs possible. The film invites the audience to explore five different scenarios in the virtual world, including the Cir-clean main system, the data space, the system crash, the invisible host world, and the white space. By immersing the audience in these scenarios, the film encourages reflection on how to find better ways for the digital world and the real environment to coexist harmoniously.

Inspiration


	Our project was inspired by Jorge Luis Borges' short story "The Circular Ruins". Inspired by him, we chose the shape of the circle as the look of our main system. We hoped the audience can experience the inner workings of an environmentally friendly system and ultimately see the infinite illusion that refers to Borges' "The Circular Ruins".

Why &#38;amp; Motivation
	Non-Fungible Tokens are largely issued on PoW networks, the largest of them being Ethereum. Such networks rely on coin mining, which requires vast amounts of energy to conduct complicated calculations using advanced computers and specialized mining hardware.&#38;nbsp; The equipment requires a lot of power and produces considerable amounts of heat, resulting in carbon emissions. If taken in an absolute sense, anything hosted on blockchain technology emits carbon. But given the prominence that many NFTs have received due to media coverage, they have been heavily associated with energy-intensive and carbon-emitting activities. We want to make people aware of this problem through immersive experiences created in the virtual world.

	We speculate a system that can achieve the cleanest NFTs target, engaging the audience to think about how the digital world can better coexist in harmony with the real environment ——Circlean

It inspired by the fiction The Circular Ruins, which visualised our imagination of this system into a circle. And since we wanted to set it up as the cleanest NFT system, then the two words Circle and Clean combined to form the name Cir-clean. We imagine that it can achieve the cleanest NFTs target, using technologies that enable humans to coexist sustainably with our environment. In our storytelling, audience will experience how the ‘Cir-clean’ works, including how the new system is compatible with past technologies such as blockchain, how the energy pollution caused by each NFT is optimised to achieve the ideal effect of no pollution.&#38;nbsp; We wanted to creating this fictional Cir-clean system to express our
imagination of how human beings could do our best on it.

	As the camera progresses, the audience slowly enters the main system&#38;nbsp; of Cir-Clean, which runs all related behaviors of NFTs, and all activities are calculated by the chips on this building (this is a fictional utopian virtual worlds that emerge in the future, based on the concept of Solar Punk, using technologies that enable humans to coexist sustainably with their environment). In this scene, the audience will follow the orbit and be able to watch the building freely in 360 degrees. At the same time, the AI narration will tell the audience how Cir-clean works, including how the new system is compatible with past technologies such as blockchain, how the energy pollution caused by each behavior is optimized to achieve the ideal effect of no pollution.

	After viewing the external environment of the main system, the audience will enter one of the spaces of the building. This is the place to carry all the commercial activities such as auctions and bidding for all NFTs. The audience will see this bizarre scene wrapped in some trading data, and through the narration, they will learn how the Cir-clean platform uses carbon neutrality and new deep ecological technology to offset carbon emission caused by NFT in&#38;nbsp; different steps.

	In the previous scene, everything was running normally, but suddenly the alarm system of the Cir-clean system began to sound, and gunpowder smoke was accompanied by a flashing red alarm! The audience was surrounded by smoke, escaped from the space and returned to the outside environment, watching the main building fade away.

While falling, the audience can see that there are countless hosts running below and producing a lot of polluting emissions. At the same time viewers saw some screens broadcasting the Circlean news. This subterranean world is a combined expression of our virtual VR world and the real physical world, and it also makes the audience realize that from our fictional narrative, the environmental sustainability and clean energy technologies preached by Cir-clean are actually dream bubbles. We found out that NFT and blockchain technology still requires many physical factories to maintain all digital activities, including this Bitcoin mining factory in Kazakhstan. We then used this as a model to create this scene behind the Cir-clean system and a fake news to expose the fact that the industry requires huge negative impacts on the environment. The audience realizes that the so-called "Clean" of the entire system is just a beautiful fantasy, and the "underground" world is actually a real factory that still needs a lot of work to maintain the operation of the superstructure. The imaginary utopian world of "above" cleanliness contrasts sharply with the physical world of "underground" factories that are constantly running, causing enormous environmental pollution, as a source of energy to keep entire systems and digital worlds running.

At the end the audience enters a white space as the end of the journey, which is filled with quotes from Borges. We hope the audience can reflect about what we are trying to say after experiencing this story. As the fictional Cir-clean system goes from thriving to collapsing, is it fantasy or reality?

	1. This project is not intended to negate the efforts of existing platforms to create cleaner NFTs, but rather to provoke the audience to think about how the digital world can better co-exist in harmony with the real world.
2. Some of the NFTs that appear in the project are images of NFT artists' work in OpenSea.
3. In one of the scenes we adapted a BBC news story (about a mining factory in Kazakhstan) and incorporated it into our story.
4. The plot of this project is fictional.

	COVID-19 was causing immense suffering for older people worldwide, putting them at risk of poverty, discrimination, and isolation in addition to health risks. To care for the elderly, we must include them socially, as aging is a shared human experience that requires attention to their needs. We've partnered with organizations such as Age UK, South London Cares, Hammersmith Community Garden, and Design Age Institute to gather stories and opinions from older people. The project's theme is "love," including the love of plant, love of romance, love of name. After exploring various mediums, we chose art therapy combined with AR as an emerging storytelling tool. Our project aims to give the elderly a platform to tell their stories through an AR-based media platform.

&#38;lt; PROCESS &#38;gt;Inspiration &#38;amp; Purpose

	We intend to bring an emerging storytelling tool and new artistic expression to the older group through the medium of AR(Augmented Reality). In this project, we participated in activities with older people, communicated with them, and finally used AR to create storie together. Communicating and sharing stories with everyone in the community is our main purpose.&#38;nbsp;We believe that stories are important, and so are the tools to tell them. We want to use the technology we are good at to bring new experiences and joy to the communities we care about.

Why ‘AR’

	Art has proved to be an important bridge between strangers. Communicating, learning, and collaborating with experienced stakeholders are also critical to meeting our common challenges. Then we came up with the idea of AR. We can experience special things by it: Experience the feeling of the virtual world appearing in reality. The device for AR is very simple, we just need a mobile phone and then we can experience it right away.

Why ‘Older people’ &#38;amp; ‘Love’
	Degree of the aging of the population has reached the peak of the history of mankind, is becoming more and more easily in older people suffer discrimination and isolation of background, we need to try to close because of the differences between two divisions, the care of the elderly need to community and friends and mutual tolerance, and the elderly is one of the sources of the labor and wisdom. Aging is one of the few shared human experiences, and the fact that we choose to speak up for our elders is something that affects everyone.

	We realised that we needed to gather as many stories about older people's groups as possible, so in order to reach out to more older people's groups we approached a number of organisations including:&#38;nbsp;Age UK、South London Cares、Hammersmith Community Garden和Design Age Institute.

	We met with Colum Lowe (Institute Director), Victoria Patrick (Impact Manager) from the Design Age Institute via zoom. Colum has worked closely throughout his career with marginalised user groups, including those with age-related physical and mental frailty. They were very generous in giving us some constructive advice including that ‘love’ is essential for elderly.

We shared a lot of ideas on this topic and it made us realise that 'names' are very important as a form of 'love' from our parents.

We went to Hammersmith Community Garden for about a month to volunteer. There we met a variety of older people and talked to them and collected stories. They talked about their feelings for non-human things like the special feelings they cultivate in the garden for plants - we also call it 'love'.

Concept Design
	Based on our contacts with groups of older people from different organisations, we have collected many of the stories they tell, which we have summarised under the theme --- 'Love', and divided into three chapters - Love from 'Plant', Love from 'Romance', and Love from 'Name'. Then We embarked on the conceptual design and artistic treatment to turn these stories into an AR piece that could be experienced by the audience.
	
基于我们跟来自于不同组织的老年人群体的接触，我们收集了很多他们讲述的故事，我们把它们总结归纳为主题——‘爱’，并分为三个章节—— ‘植物’之爱， ‘爱人’之爱，‘名字’之爱。

Chapter 1 - Love From ‘Plant’

	Plants, and especially flowers, have an important symbolic meaning in our lives. We can find them in almost every important milestone in our lives: weddings, anniversaries and graduation ceremonies... Plants are integrated into our culture as a metaphor for love.

Chapter 2 - Love From ‘Romance’

	Love at every sunrise and sunset, in every ordinary moment. Love makes every day a Valentine's Day.&#38;nbsp;Lovers often bring to mind Valentine's Day and roses. But love doesn't just exist in these scenes. It's a love letter with chapters, romantic moments and uneventful days. 
	爱在每个日出和日落，在每个平凡的时刻。爱使每一天都成为情人节。恋人常常让人想到情人节和玫瑰花。但爱并不仅仅存在于这些场景中。它是一封有章节的情书，有浪漫的时刻，也有平淡的日子。

Chapter 3 - Love From ‘Name’

With the first cry, we come into the world. With the first words we heard, we learned our names for the first time. Our names are the love our parents give us throughout our lives.&#38;nbsp;
	随着第一声啼哭，我们来到了这个世界。随着我们听到的第一句话，我们第一次知道了自己的名字。我们的名字是父母给予我们的爱。

The Ending - Wise Tree

	This is the end of this wonderland journey. We hope that this journey has given you some different visions of love, which come from the elderly people's perspective. Here is the wise tree. It symbolises wisdom. Sometimes we need to take the time to figure out things we think we already know.

	Sinner Prayer explores socio-cultural identity and religious paradigmas through Augmented Reality. The work explores fractal and contradictory perceptions of behaviour and its simplicity stands bold within the delivery of the message.
  
This is a work about the conflict that exists between faith and what we do in our daily lives. It can be described as a more personal expression of myself, but at the same time I believe there are many people who share the same struggle as I do. Everyone who has faith but feels inadequate because many of their actions in life seem to conflict with the ideas in their faith.


I have always been reluctant to tell people around me about my Buddhist identity. Because I was afraid they would preconceive some stereotypes about me, and the truth is that they do. 


I pray in front of the Buddha statue almost every day, but I often feel that I am not worthy. Because from other people's perspectives I don't look like a Buddhist, and I often think I am a sinner. But in reality Buddhism is inclusive and you can be a prayer no matter what you are or struggle with for whatever so-called worldly behaviour you feel inadequate for. The practice is not about trying to limit you with all kinds of standards, but rather about discerning the nature of things to live your life in a righteous manner, which takes process. This is why I have named the project ‘ Sinner Prayer’ - people tend to look at what others haven't done and lose sight of what others have done. Life is like looking in a mirror. You see yourself but not someone else.

I burn incense and pray and do some meditation and other practices in front of the Buddha almost every day. So I collected some incense ashes from my incense holder.

Sometimes I smoke, which is not a good habit. In the eyes of others, they think that if a person smokes, then the person should not call themselves a Buddhist. 

So I have collected some ashes from my ashtray to symbolise the image of a Buddhist who is not accepted by everyone.

How could you tell the difference?’
What I want to express in this short statement is how could you rely on appearances to tell if someone is pious or not, even if they look the same. They can be the same person even if they have different identities or are doing different things. Many things are not black and white, just like incense ash and cigarette ash they even look the same and are not essentially good or bad.

I wanted to make a work with a sense of irony. So I decided to make a model in nomad. It consists of a mirror and two people sitting on either side of it, praying. One of them represents the so-called prayer and the other the so-called sinner, you can say that they are two different people or that they are the same person showing seemingly identical but different reflections on each side of the mirror. After building the models in nomad, I imported them into dimension for material attachment and colouring.

I ended up implementing it as an AR piece in Aero, where you can place it on any flat surface and immerse yourself in the experience and view the piece.

‘I had a dream about a mysterious dimension where I longed to meet a spirit similar to mine. i said hello can you hear me? Seems like i was talking to myself and i heard no response. i couldn't see them but i could hear them. Their voices sounded so strange. There's something hold me back. i feel fear and unease, which comes from my past consciousness telling me not to try. I often questioned myself if they would be like me. But does it matter?’&#38;nbsp;

‘I said hello can you hear me and I thought I heard some familiar voices. I don't know, but I feel more excited than ever. You know there is a voice inside of you and there is a voice inside of them. Have you ever slowed down and thought about them? i am energised by the conversation encouraged by the response and inspired by them. We explore each other in the noise, dig out each other in the barriers, and find each other in the different ends of the nebula.’

‘I said hello can you hear me, come to me, we should communicate and not hide, understand each other and not resist. Imagine there's no difference between us. We Sharing all the world. Breathing all the air. You look to the sea, you look to the sky, look to the mountains, the wilderness and now we are here. We witnessed the birth of Venus from the waves. We have survived fear, the unknown, broken all barriers and hardships. Now we are here. we can feel together, we can belong together.

	This is a three-part poetic narrative about two different spirit species that break through interdimensional barriers to communicate and connect. 

	这是一个描述跨维空间中两个不同物种的生命体如何打破障碍进行交流并最终连接的故事。它是一个由三部分组成的诗意叙事。



PART Ⅰ


	The story has multiple meanings, with the audience initially hearing a dialogue in an unknown space. The protagonist repeatedly asks, "Hello, can you hear me?" trying to connect with other spirits in the space. He experiences fear and unease, with a sci-fi-style soundtrack adding to the tension. Though he cannot see them, he can hear faint voices and hopes to make contact with the spirits. The protagonist's monologue reflects his desires and inner reflections while addressing the spirits.
	
这个故事有多重含义，观众最初听到的是一个未知空间中的对话。主角反复问:“你好，你能听到我吗?”试图与空间中的其他灵魂联系。他经历了恐惧和不安，科幻风格的配乐增加了紧张感。虽然他看不见他们，但他能听到微弱的声音，并希望与他们的灵魂取得联系。主人公的独白反映了他对灵魂的渴望和内心的思考。
PART Ⅱ


	The second part begins when he hears a familiar sound, having overcome
 his fears and stereotypes. His patience pays off as he receives a response and becomes excited. The soundtrack gradually changes to a less frightening tone. This symbolizes that making an effort to understand the other can reveal they are not as "scary" as previously thought.
	到了第二部分他开始听到了熟悉的声音，他克服了恐惧和刻板印象。他感到自己得到了回应，变得很兴奋。在这里，背景音乐开始慢慢地转变为不那么可怕的声音。这里的意图表达如果一个人努力去理解对方，你会发现他们并不像我们想象的那样 "可怕"。



PART Ⅲ


	In the third part, a different voice appears and says the same thing as him. There is a magical change in the way the spirit's voice transforms from a horror sound effect at the beginning, to synthetic sounds in the second part, and finally to a human voice. The deep meaning of this communicative connection achieved by two individuals across species is that in the real world, society symbolizes that no matter what country you come from, what language you speak, what individual you are, or what beliefs you have, if you break through the barriers of stereotypes and slowly learn to understand each other, you will find that we are all the same. When we try to understand each other, we first assume that the other person will resist or label them, like the fear sound effects we use, but this actually comes from our stereotypes of others. So, how do we break down this barrier, this wall, to make a connection with someone? That's what this work wants the audience to think about.
	

在第三部分，一个不同的声音出现了，说了和他一样的话。幽灵的声音从一开始的恐怖音效，到第二部分的合成声音，最后变成了人类的声音，这是一个神奇的变化。这种跨越物种的两个个体实现的交流联系的深层含义是，在现实世界中，社会象征着无论你来自哪个国家，说什么语言，是什么个体，有什么信仰，如果你突破刻板印象的障碍，慢慢学会相互理解，你会发现我们都是一样的。当我们试图理解对方时，我们首先假设对方会抵制或给自己贴上标签，就像我们使用的恐惧音效一样，但这实际上来自我们对他人的刻板印象。那么，我们如何打破这个障碍，这堵墙，与别的个体建立联系呢?这就是这个作品想让观众思考的问题。

	poem（dialogue） - I wrote this poem based on this theme, if I could call it poem cuz I'm not good at writing and also I'm not a native English speaker. so I tried to design the whole conversation so that the audience could understand it. I also talked to a writer about this and later on I optimised the structure of the poem to give it a three-part progression, which is also reflected in our sound section.
	
- 诗（对话）- 
我根据这个主题写了这首诗，如果我可以称之为诗的话，因为我不擅长写作，而且我也不是一个英语母语者。所以我试图设计整个对话，让观众能够理解它。我也和一位作家谈过这个话题，后来我优化了这首诗的结构，使其有了三部分的进展，这也反映在这个作品的声音部分。


	Sounds - In the first part it uses various sound effects to simulate fear, the soundtrack here is like a sci-fi type of fear sound, like the strange and scary sounds we think of in sci-fi movies and also when we think of unknown life forms.  Then in the second part the soundtrack slowly starts to change to not that scary, this is where we catch some sounds such as wind and bells from our daily life and remake them to make it sound more experimental and interesting, but also to make it more recognisable to us than the fear of the first part. In the third part, the dialogue was me and another group member, we were reading the same words in different channels. Here the matching of our voices is like the poem 'We have survived fear, the unknown, broken all barriers and hardships. Now we are here. we can feel together, we can belong together.' These sounds we try to abstract the figurative reality in an experimental form, so that the audience can feel the construction of our story and think deeply about it.

在第一部分，用了各种声音效果来模拟恐惧，这里的配乐就像科幻类型的恐惧声，就像我们在科幻电影中想到的奇怪可怕的声音，也像我们想到未知生命体时的声音。 然后在第二部分，配乐开始慢慢改变，变得不那么可怕了，这是我们使用从日常生活中捕捉到一些声音，如风声和钟声，并对其进行改造，使其听起来更具实验性和趣味性，但也使其比第一部分的恐惧更容易被我们识别。在第三部分，对话是我和另一个组员，我们在不同的频道里读同样的词。在这里，我们的声音的匹配就像这首诗一样'我们已经从恐惧、未知中幸存下来，打破了所有的障碍和困难。现在我们在这里。我们可以一起感受，我们可以属于彼此。这些声音我们试图以实验的形式抽象出具象的现实，让观众感受到我们故事的构架，并对其进行深入思考。

This is a character I made for a game project. I created this 3D model of the character from a sketch by Dean, one of our group members. It is a gatekeeper who is a character place to the change beyond, the idea was that this character morphs in to something angry and malevolent.
这是给我们的一个游戏项目制作的角色。我根据我们小组成员之一Dean的草图创建了这个角色的3D模型。它是一个“守门人”，在玩家是通往“变化”之前会遇到的关键角色。这个角色的设计初衷是他会有两个不同的版本，在情节触发后会变形为愤怒和邪恶版的“守门人”。




	
We started with wanting to create a project that explores queer fluidity and identity, drawing inspiration from Barad’s concept of the self-touching, ever-changing, “queer” electron and Serpentine Podcast Queer Currents.

This project uses a game format, specifically VR, to create an immersive experience the viewer can explore. On the key of Queer Currents and its theories that discuss queer ecologies and wildness - the joy and complexity found in natural “disorder”, we started with wanting the game to have different pathways created by encountering choices to make new experiences and environments. There will be three main avatars, a metaphor for their hopes for the future and their fears, that will present the player with multiple choices. According to what they choose, the environment will change around them, symbolising the different pathways of queerness.
	
我们一开始就想创造一个探索酷儿流动性和身份认同的项目，从Barad的自我触摸、不断变化的 "酷儿 "电子和Serpentine播客的酷儿潮流的概念中获得灵感。
